Spinning Drawing

Spinning Drawing was a multi-sensory and social experience of drawing and listening to “scores” of music. The drawing component comprised of a 4’ drawing wheels that invited multiplayer participation the creation spinning collective drawing. On tables 7” circular pieces of card stock with a single hole punched in the middle were used as a surface to engage with pattern making and rhythm. Visitors could play their scores/drawings on various record players. One record player had a standard needle while others were altered to have drawing utensils for the stylus. Spinning Drawing was a practice in omitting music in favor of connecting the visual forms to associative sounds held in peoples imagination.
